Letter to Parents 2011 – 2012 School Year

Greetings Parents / Guardians:

We hope and pray that you had an enjoyable summer. We are looking forward to an exciting 2011-2012 school year and believe that God is going to accomplish great things during your child’s educational journey here at Sonshine Christian Academy!

We are also excited to celebrate our 30th Year Anniversary and we invite you to help us celebrate over the next few months. You will hear more about this historical event as the school year begins. We are truly committed to sustaining our legacy as a “Ray of Hope for our Children”.

Enclosed with this mailing is a copy of the 2011-2012 Sonshine Christian Academy School Calendar, School Supply List, as well as transportation information. Please review the enclosed materials and also note the following important dates:

• Parent/Student Orientation – Friday, August 19, 2011 from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM – PK3&4, K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades
• Parent/Student Orientation – Friday, August 19, 2011 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM – 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades
All 2011-2012 Enrollment fees and EdChoice Supplement payment as indicated on respective vouchers are also due.
• The first tuition payment for the 2011-2012 school year for all self-pay families is due to the main office no later than Wednesday, August 24th.
The remainder of your tuition payments will be made either through the FACTS Tuition Management Program
(FACTS will automatically deduct your monthly tuition payments from your checking or savings account) or
directly to the office by credit card or money order. Please come prepared to complete and sign FACTS Tuition
Agreement or SCA Tuition Payment Agreement at Parent/Student Orientation on Friday, August 19th.

• First Day of School for all 1st Grade – 8th Grade students is scheduled for Wednesday, August 24th

All Pre-K3 Students (last name: A-Z) & Kindergarten Students (last name: A-D ONLY)
Thursday, August 25th @ 7:30 AM
Pre-K4 Students (last name: A-M ONLY) & Kindergarten Students (last name: E-P ONLY)
Friday, August 26th @ 7:30 AM
Pre-K4 Students (last name: N-Z ONLY) & Kindergarten Students (last name: Q-Z ONLY)
Please Note: Pre-K/Kindergarten students are requested to report to SCA ONLY on the days indicated above. On Monday, August 29th at 7:30 AM, all Pre-K3, Pre-K4 and Kindergarten Students report to SCA.

• Breakfast and lunch will be provided by SCA beginning the first day of school Wednesday, August 24th. It will not be necessary for students to pack their breakfast or lunch unless they desire to do so. The cost of the meals will be provided during the Parent/Student Orientation. Please note the following: Free and Reduced Price School Meals Applications will be available for completion at Parent/Student Orientation scheduled on Friday, August 19, 2011.
