Zenia Denise Boswell

Staff Sergeant Zenia Denise Boswell was born in Montgomery, Alabama and enlisted in the Army Reserves from Hawaii in 2003 as a 75B1O.

SSG Boswell completed both Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina in 2003, and transitioned into the active Army in 2005. During her career, she has served with units including the 305th Press Camp Headquarters, Honolulu, Hawaii; 504th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas; 168th Multifunctional Medical Battalion, Daegu, Korea; the United States Embassy to the Kyrgyz Republic; Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, and the White House Military Office (WHMO), Washington, DC.

SSG Boswell serves as an Administrative Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) at her current unit of assignment, a position she has held since June 2013. As an Administrative NCO, SSG Boswell serves as the primary conduit to multiple WHMO directorates on various matters pertaining to personnel assigned to her organization. SSG Boswell also provided Presidential Airlift support to the military assets assigned to WHMO, and actively serves her community through means of volunteering.

During her career, SSG Boswell has served in a number of key personnel positions. While distinctly serving at her assignments, SSG Boswell held several positions including Personnel Actions Clerk, Leave and Finance Clerk, Joint Personnel Status Reporting Clerk, Human Resources Sergeant, Unit Prevention Leader, Personnel Services NCO, and Office of Military Cooperation Noncommissioned Officer-in-Charge. She has completed an overseas tour in Korea, a combat tour in Southwest Asia for OPERATION Iraqi Freedom, as well as a short tour in the KyrgyzRepublic.

In 2013, SSG Boswell graduated from the Human Resources Senior Leaders Course at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Her military training and education also includes the Human Resources Advanced Leaders Course, Combat Life Savers Course, Warrior Leaders Course, and the Unit Prevention Leaders Course. SSG Boswell currently holds two Associate’s Degrees and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University.

SSG Boswell’s awards and decorations include the Joint Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (three awards); the Army Achievement Medal; the Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation; the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Army Good Conduct Medal; the National Defense Service Medal; the Iraq Campaign Medal (two Campaign Stars); the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; the Korea Defense Service Medal; the NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral Two; the Army Service Ribbon; the Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral Two; and the Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon. She is also a recipient of the Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association Horatio Gates Bronze and Achievement Medals, as well as the Danish Contingent March Medal.
